TCO Associate Conductor:CHIANG Chen-Hao

Mr.CHIANG Chen-Hao was born in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Mr. CHIANG graduated with a major in erhu performance from the National Taiwan University of Arts Department of Chinese Music. He began his study of conducting with LIU Chiang-Bin's introduction, and he is currently working on his master's degree in orchestral conducting with Maestro Apo Ching-Hsin HSU at the National Taiwan Normal University. In 2012, Mr. CHIANG attended The Conductors Institute at The Bard College Conservatory of Music, NY, studying with Harold FARBERMAN and Mark GIBSON. In 2012 and 2013, he also participated in the Taipei Chinese Orchestra Conducting Workshops and worked with Maestro CHEN Tscheng-Hsiung, XIA Feiyun, QU Chunquan and ZHANG Guoyong. In 2013, he participated in the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra Conducting Master Class, working with Maestro YEN Huichang, and was given the best directing award voted by orchestra members. He also received master class opportunities to learn from Maestro Tamas VASARY, Jay DEAN, LÜ ShaoChia, Tatsuya SHIMONO and Gilbert VARGA. Mr. CHIANG was the youngest of the semi-final candidates of The Second International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music in Honk Kong. He was invited to the prestigious youth conductor-training program of the National Chinese Orchestra in Taiwan, and then received the first prize to make a conducting debut with the NCO. He was invited by the 2014 Taipei International Contemporary Music Festival to conduct the world premieres of contemporary works. He was accepted as the youngest of the candidates of the 2015 TCO International Conducting Competition. He won a scholarship to join the master class of 2015 Kirishima Festival in Japan, learning from Ken TAKASEKI and Tatsuya SHIMONO. He was invited to the Sixth International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest in the same year.

Currently Mr. CHIANG serves as the Associate Conductor of Taipei Chinese Orchestra. He served as one of the Assistant Conductors of the Music Department Symphony Orchestra, National Taiwan Normal University and the Associate Conductor of the Hsinchu Youth Chinese Orchestra. In addition, Mr. CHIANG has been training several youth Chinese orchestras. He now directs the Hsinchu Senior High School Chinese Orchestra and San-Min Junior High School Chinese Orchestra. He and his students have repeatedly received excellent ratings and honorable acknowledgements from the National Student Music Competition in Taiwan.
