While Sheng is originated in the traditional Chinese court music and folk music ensembles, organ is considered as the king of Western instruments. Both instruments could date back to two thousand years in history. Under the baton of its Principle Conductor CHANG Yu-An, TCO is presenting WANG I-Yu's Concerto for Sheng and Organ Metallic Reed and KUAN Nai-Chung's Symphony No.2 for Chinese Pipe Orchestra and Pipe Organ. Through the interplay of these two instruments signifying their traditional spirits from the East and West respectively, the audience would certainly be thrilled to enjoy a concert imbued with contrasting colors and musical tensions.
