Silk Road Bimonthly 072
In the bright summer sunshine, TCO bids farewell to the old and ushers in the 2020/21 Season.
The epidemic outbreak in the first half of the year came quickly. Facing the rapidly changing situation, TCO responded with the fastest speed and opened up new paths. When the art shows around the world were shut down because of the epidemic, we launched a live webcast concert and online lecture “TCO Classroom” in March to keep people close to the performing arts. The “TCO Classroom”online lecture, which was launched on March 13, invited the musicians of TCO to lecture online every Monday to share their performance and teaching experience with the music fans. Since May, the “Young Musicians” series has been added each Wednesday to provide a platform for new musicians to express themselves.
In terms of online concerts, the “Craving for the Spring Wind” (Wang Chun Feng) live streamed concert launched on March 21 used the most beautiful music to comfort people. On April 18, the concert of “Taiwan Cheer Up” not only included all the Taiwanese works and musicians, but also paid tribute to the medical workers. Meanwhile, professional doctors were invited to participate, guide and advocate the correct epidemic prevention knowledge to the public.
On May 16, in the concert of “East and West Music Fair - TCO & JPG”, TCO joined with Ju Percussion Group to speak out to the world, which was reported by nearly 200 international media. After reopened on June 7, the concert of “Our Music Competition in Epidemic Year T_T |||” was launched on June 13 by TCO and became the first full-ticket Chinese music performance in the world.
The development of the digital field has become the fruitful result of the work in the first half of the year. The lecture of “TCO Classroom” has been visited by more than 10,000 people per session, with the highest click rate of more than 36,000 people per session. In addition to the enthusiastic response of music fans, the production mode that strictly conforms to epidemic prevention regulations has become an effective example and led other groups to launch the online concerts one after another.
With the easing of the epidemic and the gradual recovery of the arts performance market, the TCO 2020/21 season is also coming. On September 9, we will launch the season-opening concert of “Evolution.Song of Life”, focusing on Taiwanese works and Taiwanese musicians, with the common memory and emotions of the public, reuniting the power of society and thanking each other for company and contribution in the difficult times. After going through the storm, TCO will continue to accompany the public with music, and create a new chapter of the times together with firm faith.
